WEEK 4-5
The past few weeks the weather has been changing and it feels like fall, minus the football games and pumpkin decorations. I’ve spent lots of time this week under trees reading and taking in all of the Italian vineyards and scenery.
I don’t have many pics to share, or updates because the past few weeks have been slower and lots of playing with the kids. I forgot what it was like to put my phone down and not worry about a tiny screen dictating my life. It’s amazing how something so small can control every aspect of our thoughts and decisions. The past two weeks though have been a lot less time on my phone and more time outside laughing and running, without a care in the world or what is going on everywhere else. Kids are so present and truly live in the moment, and I’m trying to implement that more in my life day by day.
I came here to teach them English and help them learn, but I think they’ve taught me more important things in life than anything I could ever teach them.
I did go to a small nearby town and explored the churches and cute colorful houses. One of my favorite things about Italy is the bright houses and buildings. Italians know how to make life more cheerful, and one way is with their choice of colors!
Lastly, I told Cristian that I love to write. After he frantically ran up to me one day and told me I had received a letter in the mail, while I was confused, I was also excited at the thought of someone sending me something. To my surprise, I had received not one, but two letters and plenty more throughout the week from my new pen pal.
