Bonjour from Paris! I said goodbye to my Italian family and made my way to Paris, where I met my mom, dad, and Seth. While it was a short trip in the city of love, we managed to cross off many things on the bucket list. We saw the Arc de Triomph, walked down the Champ Elysees, and even managed to eat some McDonalds…so American of us…but snails are not at the top of my to-eat list. We were very fortunate that the weather worked in our favor and walked the city, admiring the views from the Sacre Coeur church, Eiffel tower, Montmartre art district and so much more. On my last visit to Paris,

I went into the Louvre and was able to see the Mona Lisa, but I never realized how big the museum was until walking through it with an art fanatic. Seth and I were able to see so much art, but still barely scratched the surface, while my mother and father raced toward the Mona Lisa then found a nice bench to sit on.
Our second day was filled with many chapels, and my favorite was Saint Chappel, which was filled with the most beautiful stained-glass windows. The chapel also had an art piece for a few short weeks where an orchestra played in the background narrating the illustrations from the glass windows.

Walking into the chapel and my ears being filled with soft pianos and violins as my eyes studied the different arranges of blues and purples and greens was a moment that will forever be embedded into my memories. Thanks to the Saint Chappel, my future house will have to have stained glass windows, nothing else will suffice. Sadly, the Notre Dame was still closed, but we were still able to admire its astonishing beauty from the outside.

The highlight of this trip without a doubt was NYE, where we made our LONG walk to the Champ Elysees and waited with about half a million other tourists and Parisians for the countdown and firework show above the Arc De Triomphe. It was a NYE I will never forget and will be hard to top in the future. We walked probably close to around 30 miles for the three short days we were there, but when you travel with me, we go, go, go! Some of the highlights from Paris were: • Coming out of the Louvre and seeing a man with a flashing bicycle and seats attached asking if we wanted a ride to the Eiffel tower for only 25 Euros…being the tourist we are, or should I say my mom is, we said yes and enjoyed our ride with music and lights. When we arrived though our happy faces were shocked to learn that the man meant 25 Euros a person…whoops, read the fine details, kids. It was a good laugh though, especially since we had Euros to give…

• Being that Paris is the city of love, it’s no surprise that we witnessed a proposal near the Eiffel tower…however, it was a huge surprise when the woman said no. Poor dude, maybe next time he won’t propose in front of a trash can where the Eiffel tower isn’t even visible.
• When walking past the tourist shops, mom proceeded to point out that so many girls were buying the cute little French hats. “What are those called, the sombreros?” No, mom, wrong country…but the hats were cute and the tourist in me wanted to buy one and pretend to be a little Parisian girl walking through the city!
Our time in Paris was short but fun-filled and exhausting! The adventure didn’t end there though, Spain is up next, and most importantly being a tour guide for my family!
Au Revoir!
